Questions to ask any supplier
Will tags survive washing?
- General guidanceEncapsulated NFC labels made for clothing usually survive many washes. Ask each supplier for their wash and heat-press test results.
Which chip should we use?
- General guidanceBasic NTAG chips suit content and engagement. Chips with cryptographic features (such as NTAG 424 DNA) suit authentication, because each tap can be checked.
NFC, QR or both?
- General guidanceMost connected merch uses both: QR for any camera phone, NFC for a hidden, premium tap.
Who owns the fan data?
- General guidanceThis depends on each contract. Ask in writing who owns, stores and can export the data.
Can we change the content later?
- General guidanceMost platforms send a tap to a web link they control, so content can be changed after the item ships. Confirm this, and what happens if you leave the platform.
